In 2017, Melanie Parejo has successfully completed her doctoral studies at the Swiss Bee Research Center, Agroscope, in collaboration with the institute of bee health at the University of Bern (Title: Population genetics of Swiss honey bees using whole genome sequencing). Before that, she studied Environmental Sciences at the ETH Zurich. Now she continues to work in honey bee genetics as a post-doctoral researcher.
Through her Membership in COLOSS / RNSBB (Research Network for Sustainable Bee Breeding), her participation in international research projects as well as being co-editor of the scientific Journal of Apicultural Research, she is always up to date with the latest developments in the fields of honey bee breeding and genetics.
Sarah Parejo has completed her Masters Degree in Molecular Life Sciences in 2017 at the University Bern. She is now working as a scientific associate in the field of medical genetics in a diagnostic laboratory. At mpgenetics, she is responsible for sample processing in the lab, as well as the shipping and distribution of sample tubes.
